Please help bit of a novice with all this. I have brought my son a samsung n150 mini laptop. It has a “realtek rtl8192e wireless lan 802.11n pci-e nic” card fitted to it. I have tried downloading the drivers from samsung and realtek, but still can’t get it to connect. It see’s the local connections but when i try to connect it says it is unable to.
Any help would be great as i really want it working by the 30th july as its my sons birthday.
many thanks

There are at least two drivers for the RTL8192E device floating around. One of
them is in the kernel in the staging tree and is called r8192e_pci. It does not
work for my device, but it might for yours. The second driver works for all
devices, including mine. At the moment, we are working on replacing the old one
for the newer version and hope to get it into kernel 3.1, but that doesn’t help you.
Have you checked the dmesg output to ensure that the firmware is available?
