Can't get Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG to work

Hello forum,

I’m so happy with my brand new SuSE 11.1, except for one bad point: On my Acer Travelmate 290 notebook, I can’t get the built-in Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG WLAN card to work.

According to the list on

HCL/Network Adapters (Wireless - openSUSE

this should work with all versions prior to 11.1!?

Can someone please point me to a step-by-step instruction or tutorial on how to set up and test the WLAN card?

At least, I would like my card to “see my router” (or some other WLANs that I know to be around my house).

Any help is highly appreciated!

welcome to the OpenSuse forums;

have a check on the cover page for the Forums: there is a specific wireless forum;

you have a much better chance of getting your wireless post spotted there;

BEFORE POSTING; do check out what are called the “stickies”:

these are always the top two entries on the WIRELESS FORUM;

they are very useful howtos; they may help you get your system going;

but if they do not:

POST THE INFORMATION that the stickies ask for: in your first post on the wireless page: that will help the wireless experts; (who are very busy people) try to help you
