Can't finish install of 11.3

So I started a clean install of 11.3 this morning. I formatted the linux and swap partitions and got through the actual install. Now, when it tries to reboot for the configuration half, I get nothing. No signal is sent to my video card. My monitor stays blank, flashes up a giant “NO SIGNAL” that it usually displays after I’ve shutdown, and then goes to sleep.

I at first thought this was because my onboard video(nVidia chipset) had been disabled(past issues with SuSE lead to that being the only possible fix), so I turned the onboard back on. Still nothing. I hooked the monitor into the onboard instead of the nVidia card, and still nothing. At the moment, that partition can’t be configured or used.

Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

NOTE: disc passed the md4 checksum test after burning. system has an AMD x64 proc, WD Harddrive, nVidia chipset, and nVidia video card.

As you assume, this has to do with the NVIDIA card. This here will help you through your problems:

SDB:NVIDIA drivers - openSUSE

I have added nomodesett to my kernel’s boot command via the command line version of GRUB as per the release notes suggestions. This has had no effect. Will I have to do another reinstall to use this setting?

er, added it during a reinstall, and no issues following that. so I guess mark this solved?

I assume you had used ‘nomodeset’, not ‘nomodesett’ (double tt), right?
