I’m running 11.4 and have been for some time. I really can’t say when it started but for some reason, I can no longer delete files without using a file manager. If I attempt to delete from the desktop or through any other program, I receive a dialog box saying my trash is full and to empty it, even though it IS empty.

Not sure you actually have to clear out anything. Maybe you could first try different settings in Dolphin itself: Settings > Configure Dolphin > Trash.*
I think you could try to turn off the limit, or at least raise it.
ETA:
If that does not exist, that is because I am using a newer version of Dolphin. In any case, I mean the settings for the trash – whereever they are.

I got tired of emptying the trash and automated it.
