can't convert mp3 or burn cd using ffmpeg or k3b

Hi there

Using openSUSE 11.2.

Went to burn audio CD - no can do, it says I must convert to .wav (Ihave the k3b-codecs package).

Try doing the convert with ffmpeg and it says mp3:unknown format. I tried ffmpeg from packman 11.1 and 11.2

Never had problems with either program before 11.2.

Any ideas anyone?

Cheers

I don’t believe there are any k3b-codecs packages for 11.2. The one for 11.1/KDE 4 is still in the alpha stage. If you have codecs for 11.2, where did you get them?

Do you have the w32 codecs installed?

I had no problems burning an audio cd with ogg files with k3b in 11.2.

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear, I used Packman 11.1 for k3b and k3b-codecs.

I have w32 codecs.

How can I convert my mp3 files into ogg then???

Cheers
Steve

I use foobar2000 running under wine to convert cd file formats prior to burning.

lame --decode file.mp3
oggenc -q3 file.wav
