Can't connect to secure network (password is correct)

Hey, I’ve been struggling with this for days. I’ve searched through these forums and Google with no results.

I’m trying to connect to my secure home wireless network with no luck.

-The network card itself is fine: it can connect to my secure network in my Windows Vista partition and it can connect to a neighbor’s unsecured wireless network.
-My secure network is visible in my network manager. It’s listed under “Available”. I can also connect to it fine on my desktop, which runs Windows 7.

Here is what happens exactly:
When I click on the network, it asks for authentication. I leave it on the default WPA & WPA2 Personal and type in the password correctly. It then proceeds to try connecting. It asks for authentication every 20-30 seconds or so, a couple more times, before it just says that it has been disconnected.

The card is an Atheros AR5001 Wireless Adapter and the laptop is a Sony VAIO. The OS is OpenSUSE 11.3 w/ GNOME setup.
