Glad to hear it works for You as well too bad the bug is still here but I’m guessing that’s an upstream issue. Too bad it took so long for You to find that workaround and for me to find this thread.

Any idea of a link to that bug so I can also submit my experience to it (on opensuse’s bugzilla)?
LOL, yeah it took a long time but in a sense it worked out because it forced me to use Fedora on my netbook which meant I got to learn a different way of working with rpm’s, updates, etc. So I learned more than if I’d had openSUSE on all my computers.
