I use DSL modem to connect to net. PPPoe type. (BSNL broadband anyone out there help). Whenever i log in as normal user i am unable to connect to the net. T could not even see connections icon in the gnome panel.whenever i click connections from control center it detects network but doesnt display any thing such as available connections.(but the same is displayed when i log in as root) I have ethernet too. Plz advice me how to connect net as normal user as well as using ethernet to configure net
have you tried setting it for “user controlled” in YaST - network devices - network settings ?

ya it is the default setting. but not able to connect
