I installed a driver for my onboard 802.11n wifi on my ASUS P5Q3 mobo. I successfully loaded the driver and added the entry in /etc/modprobe.conf.local
alias ra0 rt2870sta
I brought up the interface:
ifup ra0

I added this file as per readme instructions:
vim /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-ra0
DEVICE=‘ra0’
ONBOOT=‘yes’
I can scan wireless networks with iwlist scan.
I modified file /etc/Wireless/RT2870STA/RT2870STA.dat for my wireless network (set SSID, NetworkType, AuthMode, etc)
I cannot see the interface in Yast. Does anyone know how I set ESSID, turn on authentaion for WPA? I’m almost there…
