I discovered that I have a VERY old login to this forum - guessed the username and tried a couple old passwords and found myself signed in!
Problem is, the email address I used back then is no longer valid, but when I try to change it here:
http://forums.opensuse.org/profile.php?do=editpassword
I get:
The password you have entered does not match your current one. Please press the back button, enter the correct details and try again. Don’t forget that the password is case sensitive. Forgotten your password? Click here!
I KNOW I’m using the password I logged in with - tested login in another browser.
And of course the password reset doesn’t work because the email address is invalid.
What next?

PM me with the account name and your new and old e-mail addresses, and
I’ll see what we can do.
Since the login itself is not managed by the forum software, that means
that we may need to take some additional steps to get this sorted for you.

Just FYI this is covered in the FAQ:
http://forums.opensuse.org/faq.php?faq=novfor#faq_changeidemail
(yea, I know. I don’t generally bother to read web site faq pages
either)

And I always forget.
Got the user taken care of, though, and that’s the important thing.
