What do I do? The optical drive I’m trying to use (LG GH22LS30) is capable of burning DVD-RW. The disc I’m trying to use is a DVD-RW. I’ve tried several others but get the same error.
You seem to have chosen to do a dry run. The program is telling you that fixation (which isn’t needed anyway if you are not actually writing anything) won’t work in dry run mode. Why not try it for real?
PS: Make sure you are writing to the DVD in image mode, and verify the burn, if the program lets you.
Unfortunately those I know of are on Linux. I think there are some suggestions on the OpenSUSE wiki for simple Windows burners. Others might have suggestions to add at this point. Maybe rename the title of your thread to “Looking for reliable Windows DVD image burning program” or start a new thread?
For windows I’ve always liked Alcohol 120%, as its name suggests… it burns well
The free 15 day trial doesn’t really have any limitations getting in your way either… apart from only working for 15 days. So you might want to give that a try.
