i saved the log, do you want me to post it as well ?

Has this drive worked recently? A search shows that this model is about 4 years old. Optical drives do die after a life of use.

its older then that
it works just fine i used it 3 days ago to burn the opensuse live cd image.
it also works under a win live dvd,i checked it before posting.

Have you tried more than one disk? It looks like the medium is bad.

You burned a disk under the live DVD, or you were able to read and boot from it?

i tried more then one media,
i was able to boot a live dvd, and burn a dvd using a bootable usb flash drive with opensuse live cd on it.

i have to turn in (its late over here),im adding the brasero session log ,hope someone can make sense out of it,thanx for the replys will check the thread in the morning.

All linux GUI burning aps use one of two CLI tools: wodim|cdrecord, or
growisofs. Your k3b is using the former; you can try instead growisofs, as CLI.

UPDATE:
successfully burned the image by choosing “growisofs” instead of “auto”,
thanx to everyone who replied and gave advice.
thumbs up to everyone
