That’s a bad idea for security/stability reasons, just add a post install note for starting it, or a start script that will start/check it’s running?
I can do without systemctl, but now I want to create an assocaition between the skif mime type and the skylendar application. Before, it was done with the skif.desktop file, but nowadays it doesn’t work anymore. It seems to have been replaced by an entry in the file gnome-mimeapps.list: how to craete such an association in the .spec file ?

It should be installing src/skif.xml in /usr/share/mime/packages/ but
it’s installing skif.desktop instead… that needs to be fixed and
should sort out the problem.

Seems ok, now what should I do in order to make skylendar available on repos ? Discover and zypper show anything

You need to add your repository to your system for whichever release your running;
I guessed that, but an “ordinary” user wouldn’t be able to find it from a standard opensuse distro via zypper or discover. Should I make a formal request to the standard repos managers, including packman ?

It doesn’t work that way… you need to submit to a development project, then push to factory for inclusion in Tumbleweed, then it will get into the next Leap release (15.2).

Ok, my PC is back to normal.
That being said, I wanted to make it as simple as possible. Obs demands too much bureaucracy to my taste. So I stick to sourceforge.
And moreover, after almost 20 years of open source projects, I have understood that you create first of all your project for yourself. Don’t expect anything from the so-called community of users, if community there is. As I use to say: no glory, no money, nothing. After releasing your archive, you often get nothing more.
I don’t care anymore if I have no user for my project: it wouldn’t change anything to me. So If I still make releases, it’ll be a whim, not a duty.

No worries, that’s your call to make 
Most of my test packages are for me, if other folks find them useful I do at times kick them into the project, but yes once there, some additional work is required if there are bugs/security issues to resolve, all part of maintainership…
