Hi guys,
After doing a regular update through YaST update module (bottom-right icon on a regular 15.3 desktop) I can’t boot up:

Going through recovery mode gets me back on my system though.
Is anyone having the same issue?

Sorry, I just noticed I was a bit frugal on details 
I think a kernel update was performed, since it asked me to reboot after performing the update.
If using the 2nd option found in the image below, I’m able to boot up alright:
Try using the third option, as shown in that image. That will boot with the previous kernel. That’s a way of testing whether this is a kernel issue.
I’ve just tried it and run into the same issue. 4th option (recovery mode) also works fine, though.
I wonder what’s stripped out in recovery mode?

It’s probably a graphics problem.
A start job is running for /dev/disk/by-uuid/17somthing…
I don’t think it’s a graphic issue, I have had such a problem and somewhere here there’s a thread with a similar message: It is looking for a disk that is mentioned in fstab but it can’t find it for whatever reason. In my case it just wasn’t connected. It may also be something with the entry in /dev/disk/by-uuid/ . I don’t think I can give good advise how to troubleshoot. I’d first try and see what disk that is, if it is plugged in and running and if the entry and the link it should establish is working.

I turns out /etc/fstab was alright. However, for some reason I sure as hell can’t phantom, startup routine had a wrong instruction (YaST --» Startup routine):

Once I changed this setting to the actual swap partition’s UUID it stopped halting during boot up sequence.
My guess is this is some sort of bug occurring when GRUB is being rebuilt. Should I file it?
I ran into that problem with Leap 15.0. It happened to a number of people. I have not seen it happen recently.
As far as I know, that causes a 90 second delay in booting, but it does not prevent booting.
