Hi,
I can’t boot in ‘init 5’ after installing ATI driver as per SDB on HP Pavilion G6-2005AX. I get error -
VGA not supported
I can boot into init 5 from failsafe and I have tried everything from SDB for debugging it.
Here is my hardware information - pastebin - hwinfo - post number 2197878
Next when I try ‘ctrl + c’ or ‘ctrl + r’ I hear crazy beeps from notebook much like some sort of error.
Please let me know what needs to be done.

if you have a file /usr/share/ati/fglrx-install.log could you post it here?
you should be able to boot into the gui if you uninstall the ati driver
make sure you rename the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf, if you have one, after the
uninstall and before rebooting
which method did you use to install the driver?
I can’t locate fglrx-install.log, find doesn’t return anything.

which method did you use to install the driver?
I installed driver from YaST after adding repository as per SDB:AMD fglrx - openSUSEI’ve now uninstalled the driver and gonna check next boot.
sax3 returns segmentation fault.

Your problem is that this driver does not work with this adapter. You have (1)
the wrong driver, or (2) broken hardware. I do not use ATI hardware, thus I
cannot help further.
Yes, that seems to be the problem. I have tried several things as of now but nothing worked. AMD driver support does not offer drivers for A8-4500M. I wont mind using radeonhd if I can change resolution. There are several issues with this hardware due to inbreed HP (Insyde) BIOS and garbage pre-installed software.

motherboard gfx cards, one with Radeon HD 3200 the otherwith Radeon HD 4250.

all appeared to go fine but on reboot, ended up with a black screen as others and no entry into a desktop manager
or terminal, the only possability was removal of the driver in safe mode
All machines have almost identical sw installed.
Any advice, solution?
