I am currently using a live cd version of openSUSE 11.0, and while I can browse the shared folders on my home network, it ask me for a login and password, which to my knowledge do not even exist.
This is my first venture into linux, and I kind of need to be able to access my files on the other computer.
Every windows XP user has a username and password… there is no logging
in otherwise. XP is often setup to login without these credentials but
the username and password are still there. The password may be blank
but the username is either Administrator or something else you setup
when installing the machine. Right-click on My Computer: Manager: Users
and Groups, and see what you have in there that looks like a normal name
for a user besides ‘Guest’ and ‘Administrator’.
Good luck.
