Canon Printer Imagerunner Advance c2225i

hello

I have already searched the forum to get an answer to my problem, but unfortunately found nothing.

About my problem:

I have installed the printer “Canon Imagerunner Advanced c2225i” on my Open-suse 15.2 with the latest cque drivers from the canon site. I can print but can not select all paper trays.
The printer has 4 paper trays but i can only select paper tray 1 + 2 in libre office writer.
In the CUPS GUI I see all 4 paper trays.
I did a test by selecting paper tray 3 as default and printed a test page, the test page was printed but paper tray number 4 was used

Has anyone ever had the same or similar problem?

thanks in advance

Not sure why that would be, but one workaround might be to try defining another instance of the printer perhaps, and set the default options (including tray) as required. Name it descriptively, so that you can easily choose which printer instance you want to print to.

BTW, here’s how you can find the options available for a given printer from the CLI…

lpstat -a
lpoptions -d printer_name

Of course, the CUPS web interface makes this easy graphically.

The tray mapping might not quite be correct, but can you test print from any tray (1 thru 4) as required, even if not the order you’re expecting?

Perhaps the PPD file (located in /etc/cups/ppd/) needs editing to suit.

Try with another driver: https://openprinting.org/printer/Canon/Canon-iR-ADV_C2225 or https://openprinting.org/printer/Canon/Canon-iR-ADV_C2220_2230 .
