Canon MP145 not working as print Server

I have MP145 on my LAN with openSUSE 11.2 as the OS both on client and print server. I manage to print and using scanner on my print server but failed to print from my client, although test print page on CUPS web interface is working well. FYI i’m using driver from canon asia for this printer.

Already try to upgrade CUPS and it’s library but still not working. trying to use Epson R 230 either but with no luck, does anyone experience this? and how to solve it?

On the server, have you changed the contents of /etc/cups/cupsd.conf to allow
access from the the local subnet? By default, cups only allows access from
the local host you need to allow @LOCAL. Information on cupsd.conf can be
found in:
man cupsd.conf
More documentation is available at:
http://cups.org/
You can make needed changes to cupsd.conf directly from the CUPS interface
under the administration tab.

thanks venzkep for your help, but I’m sure that option “Share published printers connected to this system” on CUPS web administration already active. :frowning:
Is this because CUPS shipped with openSUSE 11.2 or driver from canon asia? Anybody can confirmed that CUPS on openSUSE 11.2 is working? either local or remote printing?

ps: might try to uninstall driver from canon asia to isolated this problem and will update this thread on result…

It does no good to share the printers IF CUPS only listens to Localhost (the
default). You need to change cupsd.conf to allow access from the local
network.
