Cannot start X after update

Hi
I have just installed some updates including a Kernel update, now I cannot start X. After logging in I tried running startX but got a list of errors. Do I have to reinstall my Nvidia driver?

Try to re-configure X first. Then reboot.

Thanks for the replies, I have reinstalled the Nvidia driver from source and all is working well.
