cannot search for applications in new TW installation

So I just installed Tumbleweed and got KDE plasma configured. At first everything seemed to run smoothly. Then I went to change window decorations. After that, when I go to the gecko and click in the search bar to search for an application, it will not search. It gives me a list of applications from the last time it worked, and it won’t change no matter what letters I type in there.

Alt-F2 seems to work, but the search bar that pops up after clicking on the gecko doesn’t seem to work.

Any ideas?

Is it the same if you look for anything else, like documents, web history etc. ?

Maybe try switching to a different widget → right click the “gecko” and select “Show alternatives…”
Pick one and see if that changes anything.
