I am running openSUSE 11.0 (Gnome Desktop) and my problem is when I click on the Gnome terminal icon, nothing happens except for the cursor spinning for a few seconds and then stopping.

and what happens when you right click and select the terminal from there? Or hit Alt+F2 and run gnome-terminal?
