Cannot open facebook in my browsers....

hi there…
yesterday, i opened facebook succesfully, very fast, and there wasn’t a problem. and i didn’t install anything. But today… i cannot open facebook…just facebook only! i can’t open it in mozilla, opera, and konq. the loading is take very long time…and then stuck in the middle of process…maybe in 40%-50%…in blank condition.

i’m using KDE4 in suse11.1:(

I doubt this has anything to do with your browsers or your computer at all, it’s more likely an issue with your ISP or possibly on the Facebooks end. They’ve had numerous issues lately, sometimes out of reach and sometimes they’ve had periods where the time it takes to open it or perform any functions can be excrusiatingly long.

So just give it some time and try again.

awh…are you sure??
well actually…now it’ve been 2 days…

is there any possible solution again??

thx anyway…

Are you logged in or have logged in with this system ever before?
Do you get the selection along the bottom of the screen or does it not even get that far?
Do you get the login screen and then it goes “kaput”?
If you go to the front of facebook (Welcome to Facebook | Facebook) does anything show up?

I think we’ll need a little more detail.

I just keep having problems remembering my password!

i don’t even see the opening page!!it’s stuck and freeze after 40% of loading the page…

Just to confirm, do you have Flash installed? I don’t know if or how much Facebook uses flash at this point but might as well look at everything.

Otherwise, try a trace and see if/where it is crapping out. Maybe your ISP or your firewall is blocking an essential port. It should all use Port 80(?), HTTP, but I’m not sure.

Not sure what the code would be for pinging and tracing or what the output usually is. I usually use the Gnome network application. I’ll try and dig up what that code is unless somebody can get to it quicker.

Ping the facebook.com. Use

ping -c 10 www.facebook.com

. Check from the output. If it’s reachable try to check using

traceroute www.facebook.com
