I cannot login on this forum when already logged in in OBS. Sometimes I build a package in OBS and want to announce this on the forum. So to do it I have to close all browser windows, restart browser and only then login on the forum. Otherwise it is impossible to login.
I don’t use OBS, but as a work around, you will find konqueror and opera and sea monkey also work with openSUSE forums. And you likely can have firefox with OBS running and Sea Monkey with openSUSE forums running.
You should not feel compelled to use firefox with our forum AND with OBS.
I don’t understand what the OP is saying.
I am logged-in to my Novell Account and find myself logged-in to OBS. I can navigate to the forums and create this post.
Do you have cookies disabled for either of opensuse.org and novell.com perhaps?

Neil Darlow
Cookies are enabled. I have the same behavior both in Firefox and Seamonkey.
If to login the forums first and then the OBS, works well.
I am a bit puzzled if you missed my point ? or if you were raising a new observation ? Anyway, the approach I was suggesting as a work around was to use a different browser for OBS than what you use with openSUSE forums.
By doing that there should be no login interference.
Its interesting to read, thou, that the login order makes a difference. … I’m wondering if that may be true for more than just the obs/forums sequence configuration ? (ie maybe for bugzilla/forums or wiki-edit/forums … ? ).
Using two browsers is not a good solution: one have to have two browsers installed, set up, remember which one he used last time to login OBS etc.
Why is it NOT a good solution ? I totally disagree.
In fact for KDE users its a pain NOT to have at LEAST two browsers installed. Konqueror and Firefox are installed by default. BOTH are browsers. I assume then you are a Gnome user ?
I typically have 4 browsers installed: Firefox, Sea Monkey, Opera, and Konqueror.
Its definitely NOT hard to remember which browser is for what. I’m a KDE user but even in Gnome and LXDE it is possible to put an icon on one’s desktop for browser-b to run directly to openSUSE forums and have browser-a to run directly to OBS. Its very simple, its driven by clicking on the icon name “openSUSE forum” or icon name “OBS”, and no complex memory work required (and I probably have a memory worse than anyone on this forum).
Linux is about choice, and I respect your choice not to use more than one browser, but I do not agree with the reason about it not being a good solution. Rather I see you have a subjective assessement (which is perfectly fair) but the “not a good solution” reasons to me are not logical.
Sorry, … I simply do not agree.
Anyway, another approach is to put openSUSE forums as your default page when your browser starts, that way you can be assured you always launch the forums first, as a reminder that you need to login to the forums first before OBS.
Hi
It’s to do with the cookies and timeouts, I just clear the openSUSE cookie in Firefox Edit->Preferences->Privacy-> ‘remove individual cookies’ then scroll down the list to forums.opensuse.org and remove.
What Malcolm said is exactly correct. Take a look at

Maybe this works, but erasing the cache each time is more diffiocult than
just close all browser’s windows.
I don’t use OBS. However, I would have solved that problem using two different firefox profiles. I already use different profiles for conflicting yahoo accounts. One is my main firefox profile (I’m using that now). For the other I follow the trick you can find on the mozilla site, for starting firefox with a second profile while you already have firefox running.
I would bookmark the site only in the particular profile.
It’s a fairly easy way to deal with conflicting cookie requirements.
