Cannot log into opensuse news

I can log into the forums just fine, but when trying to log into news.opensuse.org it doesn’t work. It takes me to https://news.opensuse.org/wp-login.php

I tried my user name and email address.
http://paste.opensuse.org/78558898

Then it says that it doesn’t recognize me

Also tried IE and Chrome with the same results.

I can’t login to the forums at all with Chrome, I had to resort to using one of my machines to login here.

It would appear they have an authentication loop that occurs when you try to login.

I am able to get in. I’ve seen similar things in the past with various
forums, and deleting site-used cookies typically fixes the issue. In
Firefox if you hit Ctrl+i (or right-click: Page Info) you can go to
Security (as I recall) and see all of the cookies for the current site.
Nuke them and that will hopefully give you the same results that I have
(successful login).

Good luck.

Not a cookie issue, looks like a site issue. When logging into the forum, I’m taken to the attachmate website and log into the forum just fine, but the opensuse news takes me to that wordpress site and it fails.

Yes, I see the same thing.

I just tried this with “rekonq”. At the end, I was still not logged into opensuse news, but I was apparently logged into the forum with rekonq.

So who is going to tell them?

I think login on that particular site is only needed for those who are
providing the news in the feed, but I’ll pass it along.

Just wanted to reply to the threads on the news, but can’t login.

No problem - it’s been passed along to the proper people (admin at
opensuse dot org is the best place to report these types of issues).

Just as a follow-up, commenting is open on the news.opensuse.org site -
no login is required. Login is only needed for those who post news
stories or admin the site.

And, for posting new items, the opensuse login is not enough. You need
that an administrator adds you to certain list. This is not clearly
explained on the site.
