I am able to get in. I’ve seen similar things in the past with various
forums, and deleting site-used cookies typically fixes the issue. In
Firefox if you hit Ctrl+i (or right-click: Page Info) you can go to
Security (as I recall) and see all of the cookies for the current site.
Nuke them and that will hopefully give you the same results that I have
(successful login).

Not a cookie issue, looks like a site issue. When logging into the forum, I’m taken to the attachmate website and log into the forum just fine, but the opensuse news takes me to that wordpress site and it fails.

Just as a follow-up, commenting is open on the news.opensuse.org site -
no login is required. Login is only needed for those who post news
stories or admin the site.

And, for posting new items, the opensuse login is not enough. You need
that an administrator adds you to certain list. This is not clearly
explained on the site.
