cannot install printer- no printer drivers

Howdy everyone,

On my kids pc, I installed dual boot 12.2 with windows 7 from a live
KDEboot stick. It runs well with just a few glitches we are working through.

I have an Epson Artisan 810 all in one printer. It isa network printer
available just from the IP address. I have it installed on my desktop pc
with the settings as you can see on the picture here:

The difference between this and when I tried to install it on my
daughter’s pc is that in the lower box, there were no printer drivers. I
assume this is because installing the OS from a live boot stick instead
of a DVD, it is just less thorough in the installation.

In any case, I tried to click the button to “find more driver packages”
and the other buttons next to the lower box, but Yast would not get any
epson drivers at all for me. The network IP address for the printer is
found without a problem - I just can’t get a driver, so I can’t install
the printer.

So I am wondering, how do I go about getting drivers for this printer
installed on my daughter’s computer so she can print papers for school?

You’re probably missing the gutenprint package. It contains the required open source drivers.
