Hi,
i am using tumbleweed and have GNOME and KDE 4 installed. Recently i decided to test plasma 5 but the installation via zypper seems to run into a conflict with kde4 i think.
I used this command:
su zypper in plasma5-session
i got this message (in german i hope it is useful though):
Problem: plasma5-session-5.2.0-1.1.noarch benötigt plasma5-desktop >= 5.2.0, was aber nicht angeboten werden kann
Nicht installierbare Anbieter: plasma5-desktop-5.2.0-1.2.i586[repo-oss]
plasma5-desktop-5.2.0-1.2.x86_64[repo-oss]
Lösung 1: Folgende Aktionen werden ausgeführt:
Deinstallation von kdebase4-workspace-4.11.15-1.2.x86_64
Deinstallation von patterns-openSUSE-kde4_basis-20150105-1.1.x86_64
Deinstallation von kdebase4-workspace-branding-openSUSE-13.2-6.62.x86_64
Deinstallation von kdebase4-session-4.12-5.1.noarch
Deinstallation von kdebase4-openSUSE-13.2-6.62.x86_64
Deinstallation von patterns-openSUSE-kde4_imaging-20150105-1.1.x86_64
Deinstallation von patterns-openSUSE-kde-20150105-1.1.x86_64
Lösung 2: plasma5-session-5.2.0-1.1.noarch nicht installieren
Lösung 3: plasma5-session-5.2.0-1.1.noarch nicht installieren
Lösung 4: plasma5-session-5.2.0-1.1.noarch beschädigen durch Ignorieren einiger Abhängigkeiten
basically it says that plasma5-session-5.2.0-1.1.noarch is needed but not found
solution 1 is to uninstall all of the listed kde 4 packages
the other solutions not to install this or to ignore some dependencies.
No. It says that plasma5-desktop cannot be installed (which is required by plasma5-session), because it conflicts with KDE4.

Yes, you have to uninstall KDE4 to be able to install Plasma5. They are not co-installable.
What should i do?
Choose solution 1.
Or add my repo and install Plasma5 from there. My packages are co-installable with KDE4, and my repo also includes pre-release versions of a lot of KF5 ports of KDE applications (that can also be co-installed with the KDE4 counterpart).
See here, e.g.: https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/505223-Using-KDE-Plasma-5-on-Tumbleweed
Sorry i misread that, you are right of course.
I decided to uninstall kde 4 (go with solution 1), i do not want to add another repository.
The installation went well.
