Cannot Install packages through Yast2

I can find packages, but once I click accept, the “Perform Installation” window opens and the two bars at the bottom would stuck to 0% forever. I had to kill process to shut down yast when in such cases.

I’ve updated the Yast itself…so anyone have any idea about what to look at? thx

Open a terminal and go su

Now type:

zypper ref

then

zypper up

Then check if there are any more updates with:

zypper lu

If neccessary run zypper up again.

Now try yast Software Management

After the ‘zypper up’ and ‘zypper lu’…still the same…didn’t solve the problem it seems

You didn’t actually tell us if zypper did anything as far as updating is concerned.
Might be worth re-boot, though should not be needed.

I rebooted the system and now Zypper is working now… thanks very much
