Cannot install Gnome Applets

I am using OpenSuse 12.1
When I Right click on the panel hoping for a menu to come up to add applets nothing happens at all.
I have gone through everything I should need to install applets in the panel and everything and then some is installed.
The problem seems to be that Right clicking on the panel is treated the same as if I am Left Clicking but Right clicking in any other program works the way it is suppose to.
Is there any other method for installing an applet other then the easy way that is not working for me?
I have searched the forums for other people having the same problems but have not found any and I am sorry if this has already been answered.

Hi
12.1 is pure GNOME 3, no applets as such. The only applets are
available as ‘extensions’. The list is increasing slowly here;
https://extensions.gnome.org/

Just click on the extension your interested in and slide the button to
‘on’ and it will install a bit like firefox add-ins.

Any applications that has it’s own applet will
appear in the lower panel.
