Hi! I am completely new to Open SuSe and I tried to install an ASUS AC53 Nano USB WiFi dongle on my Leap15.1 installation but I am unable to even though I have the Linux drivers on my CD. I tried looking online and that did not work either. I find drivers but when I try to install I get errors, often telling me some file or directory does not exist. I tried copying the file to my computer and running it from there but I will get an error and no install. I can get an internet connection through the built-in Ethernet port on my old Dell 630 but no matter what I try, it will not recognize the dongle and will not install the drivers. I tried reading the manuals but they are not much help either. Any help would be appreciated.

To see, which Chip is build in the ASUS AC53 Nano USB WiFi dongle.
Use Code-Tags for the output.
Possibly RTL8812BU.
Do a search on github for rtl8812bu. There are plenty of tweaked drivers with instructions. They work on your dongle.
What do you think I have asked for lsusb?
Maybe I have build an rpm…
I looked up chipset online. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
I have build some drivers from git and so its a better solution to use this rpms because they are build against the newest kernels.
Only to enable the right Repo from me and install it, after kernel update the drivers wil also be updated automatically.
In other words:
you have not build the drivers after Kernel update by hand.
PS:
Chipset is not the only thing, you have to look, if the ID is inside the driver…
