Hello Everyone,
I’m long time user bun non technical user of OpenSuse. Lately I upgraded my distro to latest ver of Tumbleweed. Obviously I followed all instructions on https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Tumbleweed_Merger.
Everything looked OK. However It looks like i cannot get any updates since. When i refresh my repos from terminal I am getting message that everything is OK however when i start Online Update application from the Desktop I am getting message: No update repository configured yet. Run configuration workflow now?. When I click Yes I am getting list of All repos URLs. And when i compare them with instructions on https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Tumbleweed_Merger the look just fine
Could anybody help me in fixing this issue PLS
What issue?
That you get no updates, or that the desktop’s updater displays that message?
There are no updates yet. Tumbleweed is only published in specific snapshots, after all tests have passed. This can take days or even weeks if there are problems, during which you won’t get any updates.
I suppose the message comes from the fact that there is no update repo for Tumbleweed.
You shouldn’t use the Desktop’s updater anyway, the recommended way to update is “zypper dup” only.
Which Desktop, i.e. which Updater, are you actually using?
What repos do you have?
zypper lr -d
You might get around that message by adding the 13.2 update repo, e.g.:
http://download.opensuse.org/update/13.2/
But consider this as a workaround only, and it might give conflicts.
There probably will be a dedicated update repo for Tumbleweed at some point (to be able to provide critical security updates when Tumbleweed cannot be published because the tests fail), but it isn’t there yet.
the issue is the accusal message.
Thanx for reply anyway
I would just want to second what wolfi said earlier - the only way you are supposed to handle updates with Tumbleweed is:
# zypper dup
In fact, I also run:
# zypper rm -u *packagekit*
to completely rid myself of a desktop update notifier and Apper. This also fixes that annoying thing of when you have logged into your machine to do some maintenance from the terminal but PackageKit has the zypper process locked.

hi,
just looked in at Tumbleweed and ~100 packages updated,
32bit OS, not looked in on a 64bit install yet
cheers
Yes, there was an update today, to snapshot 20141105.
