aria2 AFAIK uses torrent as one of the ways it downloads the file as well as the mirrors. I got 1.2 MB/s (which is around the maximum speed of my connection)
Here is the extract from the metalink file of bittorrent:
Ok. I’m downloading the 32 bit version, so Iwould be 4.2 GB. I downloaded the file, and when I check for a checksum, this is displayed:
openSUSE-DVD-i586-Build0024-Media (/home/agunet/Downloads/openSUSE-11.4-DVD-i586_2.iso)
Medium: DVD1
Size: 4434460 kB
Result: Error – MD5 sum does not match
This medium should not be used.
I think I have to download the file again, haven’t I ?
After failed direct downloads I tried, I’m trying to download via BigTorrent. One only doubt: What does it means when the status is “Stalled” instead of “downloading” ?

means it has stopped moving bits…it may start up again when
conditions allow (maybe there suddenly were no seeders, or the route
between you and the seeder went down, or or or or or)…
give it a little time, maybe it come to life again… (anyway, do
something else than sit and watch it, my granny said: “A watched pot
won’t boil.”)

Note that I have not been able to get the torrent download. I get Invalid data from tracker if I mouse over the status field. also there is a ! in a triangle in the field which is more then then the normal stalled message.
