Cannot control the brightness of external displays anymore

Hi at all!

I recently reinstalled Tumbleweed on my laptop, since I replaced the SSD. First I used the net install iso, but I made a mistake partitioning the drive. So I reinstalled it, this time with the full offline image. I selected the same options in the installer both times. Chose the default with full Plasma desktop.

The first time with the net install, the brightness applet in the systray would show and work for the internal monitor and for the two external ones. Now, after the second install with the full offline image, the applet only shows the internal monitor.

I’m on the latest Tumbleweed with KDE Plasma desktop on X11.

Are there some packages that I missed? I queried for powerdevil and kscreen in zypper, but it seems I have everything installed:

I’m at a loss here

Okay, after I installed xf86-video-amdgpu and restarted, everything works now! For some reason, this package was apparently installed with the net install, but not the full install. :person_shrugging:

So, that topic is solved.

I was too optimistic. After every suspend or hibernate, the external displays disappear again. Only an x-server restart solves that. I will file a bug at the KDE bugtracker once I have some time to troubleshoot that issue.
