A few days ago after an update power profiles stopped working. When I try to change it from the battery icon (KDE), it always jumps back to the default balanced. Also issuing
powerprofilesctl set power-saver
runs without, but afterwards powerprofilesctl get shows, that still balanced is set.
What can be the problem?
I am running Tumbleweed 20230123, with
KDE Plasma: 5.26.90
KDE Frameworks: 5.102.0
Qt: 5.15.8
Kernel: 6.1.7-1-default
Hello
You forced to install powerprofilesctl since this software not installed by default on my tumbleweed version is in conflict with tlp (Tools to save battery power on laptops) which is installed as standard.
It is part of the power-profiles-daemon package which is a bit hidden on first search.
tlp does its job. Well and the conflict search is not helpful.
Updating Tumbleweed (20230207) fixed it for me. It included a kernel update to 6.1.10-1-default. I assume the kernel update actually fixed the issue. power-profiles-daemon is still on version 0.12-1.2.
