I just installed Opensuse 11.1 and I can not get into the operating system. While its loading to get to the desktop it stops and the last few lines before it goes to a text login is:
Staring firewall Initialization (phase 2 of 2)
Master Resource Control: runlevel 3 has been
Skipped services in runlevel 3:
Welcome to opensuse 11.1 - Kernel 2.6.27.7-9-pae (ttyl)

I did a firmware test and it says bootloader has problems. I tried doing a repair install and get the same problem.
Please help

This looks like the operating system is booting, but into runlevel 3. To get a desktop environment, you should boot to runlevel 5.
You can try this a couple of ways. While openSUSE is booting you can type 5 on your booting options to boot into runlevel 5, or you can login as root where prompted up above and type “init 5”.
To make these changes permanent edit the /etc/inittab file and change the default runlevel line from 3 to 5.
