Cannot boot from CD

Hi,

I am a newbie to linux. I have Ubuntu on my laptop, as of now, but it is giving me many problems so I am considering switching.

My laptop’s CD Rom drive is messed up, so I have an add-on device that I use to play CD Roms. I put the Open SUSE CD in there, and Ubuntu recognizes it, but I can’t boot from the CD, nor can I run the CD

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

have you tried smart boot manager ? smart boot manager can be put on a cd as well.

Andy

Thanks for the advice.

I downloaded the file, renamed it to a .iso file, and burned it to a CD using ImgBurn. It said that the img was burned without any problems.

However, when I put it in ubuntu, it said it “couldn’t mount volume.” What should I do?
