Cannot activate wireless card on T60

I installed Suse yesterday night. I can go onto the internet using LAN, but the wifi isn’t working. The indicator light is permanently off. How do I turn the wifi card on? (I can swtich blue tooth on and off using the wireless button, but not wifi.)

Thanks a lot.

Have a read of the stickies in the wireless section plenty of good info there

Yeah I did. Two person has already posted on the wireless section about the wifi not working on T60, but so far no on seems to have come up with a solution…

Just one stupid question - how do you turn on console. And after you turn it on, how do you turn it off?

If you mean open a condole in KDE/Gnome then there should be an entry in the menu.

If you want to drop to a vt then either log-off and in the bottom left corner of the log-in screen there is a Menu option which when clicked will give you a choice to go to a console.

Or even more, while in a window environment press Ctrl+Alt+F1 to go to a vt and Alt+F7 to get back to the wm.

Thanks. I found the console in the menu option.

But when I tried to press Ctrl+Alt+F1, it got stuck permanently in the OpenSUSE loading screen. Odd.
