Cannot access Plasma Wayland session

Good day everyone.

I have a fresh installation of Tumbleweed with Plasma, but it’s impossible to login with the Wayland Session.

I can with X11, but unfortunately I’ve always had freeze issues, that’s why I prefer the Wayland one. I use the Nvidia proprietary drivers (I gave up and started to use them), version 560 with the Nvidia cuda repos for openSUSE.

What happens is: I can see the login screen (it’s SDDM I think?), I select the Plasma Wayland session, I input the password. The screen turns black, I get kicked back to SDDM.

I’m suffering of the same thing on another installation, seems that this happened after an upgrade, but I could rollback. I guess it’s related to KDE Plasma.

Is there anything we can do to at least investigate?

Do you happen to use an external display? I’m suffering the same:

Hah! Yes, external monitor. I can enter the session indeed if I unplug the DP cable! As soon as I re-plug it in, I get kicked again.

I’ve also tried to revert to the normal and default Breeze theme since that’s usually recommended.

Doesn’t work.

Newest updates has fixed it for me. Not the first time this has happened, so I’m not too surprised.
