Cannot access internet

I just installed Suse 11 from promo DVD. When I connected to BSNL broadband it said that package KInternet should be installed (which unfortunately wasn’t in the DVD). So I downloaded it from the internet ( another compu) and when I tried to install this error was shown :

"repo-oss: Valid metadata not found at specified URL(s)
Cannot access installation medium
(Medium 1)
Check whether server is accessible

Show Details :
URL : http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.0/repo/oss/"

When I tried to opened “Install software” the following error was shown :

"repo-oss: Valid metadata not found at specified URL(s)

Cannot access installation medium
(Medium 1)
Check whether server is accessible

Show Details :
URL : http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/11.0/repo/oss/"

I skipped this and at the end this warning was shown :
"
Warning :

There was an error in the repository initialization.
Valid metadata not found at specified URL(s)
History:

How to resolve this?

Moreover even after I installed KInternet I cannot access the internet.I searched the net and made the following settings :

  1. DHCP enabled
  2. IPV6 not enabled
  3. DNS servers :61.1.96.69
    61.1.96.71
    208.67.222.222
  4. Default gateway : 192.168.1.1

What can be the possible reason for this ? Please help.
