Cannot access Installation Media (medium 1)

I tried to install tumbleweed without usb by copying all the content from the image disc to my new partition to install it. i boot my pc and choose the partition and i got this error. i found the similar error thread but its already years ago. so i open this again in case there will be another way to fix it

The description is unclear…
You unpacked the ISO to the same partition which the installer should use for installation (overwriting)? How did you prepare the installation? Did you adapt an already existing grub2 to load the ISO (loop)?

Don’t you have a 8GB pen drive to dump the ISO on? Maybe ask a friend to borrow one.

Hi

Hope this helps…

If you can create a / (root) partition, then a /home one also, you have an installation space.

IF you make a small (8 Gb) partition and extract the img/iso to there, then try and run the installer.

If it works, then the 8Gb area can, later, be made into a swap partition.

So can you explain how you downloaded/acquired the image file and created the partition, along with any OS already installed.

I know the above works with MS OS’s but cannot guarantee it works with Leap.
