Can not watch movies with "Videos" program

Hi,

I can not watch movies with “Videos” program. I can hear the audio of the movie but no pictures. For example when I try to watch a ‘mkv’ file the following messages pop up consequently and at the end no result:

Videos requires an additional plugin to decode this file
The following plugin is required:
Matroska demuxer
Do you want to search for this now?
[HR][/HR]Install the following plugins
Do you want to install this software now?
(a list of 3 GStreamer Streaming-Media Framework Plug-Ins)

[HR][/HR]Refreshing Software List

[HR][/HR]Failed to install software
A package could not be found that allow the action to complete. More information available in detailed report.

[HR][/HR]And there is no detailed report or I can not find it.
Can anybody help me with issue?

i think he is talking obout opensuse gnome. anyway…
i recommend you to install vlc and vlc-codecs and smplayer. they are the best video players in the linux world.

Best is subjective not to mention overrated, tha being said everybody is entitled with his own opinion. Mind you beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
It is a free world out there :slight_smile:
