dmesg does not have any mention of words like Broadcom, b43,
I checked dmesg output in vi.
iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
I tried
sudo zypper install b43-fwcutter
sudo /usr/sbin/install_bcm43xx_firmware
no effect.
I would be grateful for any advice.
You need the driver from here
Install Broadcom Drivers from Packman - Blogs - openSUSE Forums
But your system Must be updated first
Can you do that?
thanks for reply. what do you mean by updating the system? I ve made the recent upgrade to 11.4
just in case I tried
zypper in broadcom-wl broadcom-wl-kmp-default
the output is

Upgrade is one thing, update another.
An update is done via “zypper patch”.

nothing has happend
nothing has changed after these commands and rebooting.
I understand that but yast says me that the system is up-to-date.
To be honest, the repo list is one big mess to get read-. Remove all the 11.3 repos.
Another thing: you have both kernel-default and kernel-desktop installed. This means you may very well be running a kernel that doesn’t have the driver. Check the version of the kmp package.

You have several 11.3 repos enabled, please remove them, or change to the
appropriate place.
Be careful with home repos, don’t use them unless you know you can use them.

Cat? No, that command is wrong.

Silence in Linux means success.

Rebooting undoes what the command might have achieved.

Your problem is you have 2 kernels
default and desktop
You are booting with default
But your packman driver is for desktop
ok, but how to resolve it accurately?
bwt, default driver is installed.
Sorry yes.
My bad.
So please try the following and post the terminal feedback
sudo /sbin/modprobe -rv b43
sudo /sbin/modprobe -rv wl
sudo /sbin/modprobe -v wl
For the heck of it, reboot and post
/sbin/lspci -nnk
