Can I change computer name?

I was using OpenSUSE 13.1 when the disk crashed; now I have installed 13.2, starting to recover my backups from CrashPlan. The problem is, somehow during the installation of 13.2 my computer got a new name, “linux-6jkz”, rather than “monk” which I have always used previously. (If the installer gave me a chance to designate a name I missed it, and I do not want to reinstall due to the very slow DSL in my remote part of the world.) I was going to just go ahead with the new name, but CrashPlan strongly suggests that I keep the same name as it will make backups simpler. But I cannot figure out:
(a) how to change the name of a system after installation?
(b) will changing the name have important ill effects elsewhere?

Yast –> Network Devices –> Network Settings

Click the “hostname/DNS” tab. Then set the name that you want. You can set a domainname too (it probably defaults to “site”).

Click “OK” to complete the action.

(b) will changing the name have important ill effects elsewhere?

No, though things might look a little confused over names until you reboot.

Thanks nrickert. I had tried “software,” “hardware,” “system,” but never thought of looking at “network devices” Seems to have done the trick
