Can 13.2 be UpDated to Leap??

As the title says, I would like to know IF openSuSE 13.2 can be “UpDated” to Leap -or- is a FULL wipe and Install required?? That is what I normally do -but- I have VMware 12 set up with Windows 10 and would prefer to NOT have to wipe them. Both, VMware and Windows were UpDates, so I do not have the discs from which to re-install them. Well, guess I could download them again -but- things would sure be smoother IF I could just UpDate to Leap.

Thanks,
-Chuck

Hi,
Yes, you should be able to.

There is a guide on the link below (see documentation section):
https://en.opensuse.org/Portal:42.1

FYI, Distrowatch.com did a review (not long ago) using this guide and
they failed to get there. The guide seems a bit cryptic and too
technical, IMHO, and one might get confused using it. Many users here on
these forums have upgraded successfully over the years (including
myself) using either the DVD upgrade option (I used it successfully on 2
installs of 13.2) or the ‘zypper dup’ method.

Warning It is strongly recommended that you run the upgrade not in
runlevel 5 (graphical mode) but in runlevel 3 (text + network).

People had their X session stopped/crashed during the upgrade, causing
the upgrade to abort, which in turn left the system in an inconsistent
state.

To change to runlevel 3, see SDB:Switch_runlevel.

zypper dup

With the above command, zypper will download all required packages and
install them in heaps. To download all packages in advance, use:

zypper dup --download in-advance

Just to add that I have also upgraded successfully nearly all editions
since 11.2 via zypper dup (i.e. using online repos) but have always
played it safe and used the following option: ‘# zypper dup --download
in-advance’
