Hello,
Since my upgrade from 11.4 to 12.1 openSUSE is not recognizing my camera anymore, I can’t use Digicam anymore to download my pictures. Nothing is even poping up in the “Device Notifier”.
Also having a same sort of problem with my 16GB memory stick, on windows it’s working well but on openSUSE I got nothing. Another usb memory stick (4GB) is working well.
Does some one have an idea?
with dmesg:
[95655.483074] usb 5-2.3: new full speed USB device number 16 using ohci_hcd
[95655.573070] usb 5-2.3: not running at top speed; connect to a high speed hub
[95655.588070] usb 5-2.3: New USB device found, idVendor=04a9, idProduct=30ee
[95655.588072] usb 5-2.3: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
[95655.588074] usb 5-2.3: Product: Canon Digital Camera
[95655.588076] usb 5-2.3: Manufacturer: Canon Inc.
So the usb connection is working, why I’m not able to access my camera.
Starting with the obvious, have you checked the device notifier settings, to make sure ‘removable devices’ is enabled?
With your usb-attached camera, open Dolphin, and type ‘camera:/’ in the location bar. Do you see the PTP device folder? Errors?
The strange thing was that I had no notifier messages at all while plugging the camera. But I was playing around on my system and changed my sata settings from AHCI to native sata and rebooted and now the camera is working. Coincidence or was it the latest update I had before I rebooted my system?
Good to know its working for you now anyway.
