In going into YAST and then Security and users, I see two Selections: CA Management and Common Server Certificate. These are new to Open SuSE 11.1. I downloaded this version after coming from 11.0, so I did not get a book which might have explained these two selections.

So, what are they, what are they used for, and where can I read more information about them?

I haven’t gone through these options but these are used for managing digital certificates and certificate authorities (CAs).

If you want to know more about these, you need to get some background on terms like digital certificates, SSL/TLS, PKE infrastructure etc. A lot of information is available on the net.
