Note: not limited to Tumbleweed - I have n-many ISOs down-loaded (OpenSuse 15.4,.5,.6,16.0 - so any help is appreciated) It is regarding installing g++ - I have googled (re-googled and re-googled again) using OFFLINE installation (as I need to have gcc/cpp in order to compile the driver for the WiFi driver) - I have down-loaded loads of rpms but in each case - either using zypper or Yast (or on 16.0 Merlin) some conflicts come up. Some googles informed me to just install the DVD ISO - use Yast to add it and choose the devel pattern - that has not worked…(again with the conflicts that come up) - any advise at all is greatly appreciated - thank you
Moving this to Programming/Scripting since it’s a request for assistance.
You’ll get help easier if you provide exact commands you’re running and the output, pasted into preformatted text tags (the </> button in the editor toolbar). Rather than say “I get error messages like […]”, just include the error message outputs in the copied from your terminal window.
You also should indicate which WIFI driver you’re trying to build. The more specific the information you provide, the better the help you’ll receive.
So the key here is that the computer has no Internet connection?
When installing the iso you will need to select at least 3 devel patters, these I have installed:
i+ | devel_basis | Base Development | pattern
i+ | devel_C_C++ | C/C++ Development | pattern
i+ | devel_java | Java Development | pattern
i+ | devel_kernel | Linux Kernel Development | pattern
i+ | devel_python3 | Python 3 Developement | pattern
