Hello. I’ve registered to ask few software-related questions and report some bugs.
I’ve got recent stable kde from openSUSE 12.1.
KDE issues:
-
Looks like kde sometimes mistakes parts of its config: the digital clock displays timezone despite it shouldn’t (when i go to clock options, “show timezone” is unchecked, i have to uncheck it, apply, check it and apply again to get the timezone information hidden). I dont have a screenshot.
-
Sometimes kde boots improperly and desktop icons are not displayed. Also, i get some strange behavior of plasma widgets (they appear on the top of the screen). Random clicking in desktop options rarely helps. Logging out and logging in helps in all cases.

After reboot:
Imageshack - desktop3ok.png Don’t care about the Diablo 2 icon not present. The png file of the icon was accidentally deleted and now the icon is displayed only when normal icon size is selected. In this case i lowered the icon size during random clicking to solve this problem without logging out. Don’t care.

KDE/Plasma crashes when switching off from start menu. I’ll provide more info in future because i need to download debugging symbols.
-
Kate sometimes has trouble recovering session after reboot. Documents are opened well in single window but
there are many empty windows opened. This should not happen.
Other issues:
-
When a new window or fullscreen window is being created, some random images (from framebuffer or buffer objects?) are displayed in that window. These images are ussually not positioned well or distracted but human-readable. They vanish after very short time and the proper rendering is displayed (it was difficult to catch it on screenshot). This seems to currently affect only windows with OpenGL context but i’ve seen it in Qt windows in the past.

This one is really hard: i suppose it’s related to fglrx, X, KWin and Firefox: WebGL and sometimes 3d view feature in Firefox causes veeery big problems with redraw. Changing screen resolution or refresh rate or logging out and logging in helps. Link to webGL Chrome Experiments - “Magic Dust” by Mr.doob

All of those bugs have been present for a very long time.
I’m too stupid to cope with all of those issues (especially where to report the last one?). In fact, some of them may be already fixed but not for openSUSE users.
