Hello everyone!
I’ve got a laptop with a hybrid Optimus graphics card that I’d like to install and use bumblebee on. I’m using OpenSuSE 12.2 and the Nvidia card is a GTX 670M. I believe it’s currently using the GTX 670M by default but with the nouveau driver. When I search for Nvidia in the software manager, there are three things checked.
libdrm_nouveau1 - Userspace interface for Kernel DRM services for NVIDIA chips
xf86-video-nv - NVIDIA video driver for the Xorg X server
xorg-x11-driver-video-nouveau - Accelerated Open Source driver for nVidia cards
I have found this post and am wondering if this is still a good way to go about installing it?
When the OP refers to the installer, how are they getting the installer? Just searching in YaST software manager for “bumblebee”?
I also see several options here for version 3.x. Is using one of these a better option?
After bumblebee is installed and running, can I then install any of the drivers from the Nvidia repository? or do I need to get drivers from a specific place?
Is it possible to uninstall bumblebee afterward if things go wrong?
Is there any other information I should provide (on top of the following) first?
Sorry for all the questions, and thanks a lot for anything!
