I was running a Tumbleweed snapshot 20151227 with kernel 18.104.22.168-1-pae yesterday, I was unable to recover.
However, I probably overused the snapper rollback application for a period of three months up to 20160102.
Whenever, I encountered a problem or even a few crashes I was able to recover during those 3 months.
The Brtfs tree became hopelessly borked. I installed openSuSE 13.2 last night, with backups today!
I may transition back to Tumbleweed in coming weeks or months…openSuSE is great!
That happened to me about 16 months ago.
Before I update my packages I like to create pre and post snapshots via the Yast Snapper module.
This has saved me many times.
