I have the Broadcom 4311 wireless ethernet card on my Acer Extensa 5620Z. I have b43-fwcutter installed so I’m not sure what the issue is. I’m still very new to Linux in general so it would be much appreciated if I could get some help on this issue. Thank You.

We Linux people are very much like normal people and thus can not know what you do not tell us 
So please tell us what version of openSUSE you use.
And what doyou mean with “crashing my computer”. I hope we shouldn’t take that very litteral, but a more detailed description could be helpfull to those who might be able to help you.
And did you also install the b43-firmware package?
This did happen in 12.2 but even with the crash it did install.
